Scholarships worth 48,000 euros to attend a European joint MSc in Mathematical Engineering.

MathMods is a two-year joint Master of Science (MSc) programme (120 ECTS) between 5 European universities, which aims to provide students with a cross cultural education while they get acquainted with both theory and applications of mathematical modelling in engineering.

Several cholarships are offered by the European Commission to both non- European and European students. These scholarships amount to a maximum of EUR 48,000.00 to cover the two-year expenses and are granted to the most promising applicants.

CONSORTIUM

The MathMods Consortium is coordinated by the

– University of L’Aquila in Italy (UAQ)

and involves other four leading institutions in Europe:

– Autonomous University of Barcelona in Catalonia (UAB),

– Gdansk University of Technology in Poland (GUT),

– University of Hamburg in Germany (UHH),

– University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis in France (UNS).

STUDY PROGRAMME

The MathMods Master’s degree course consists of four semesters. Each semester totals 30 ECTS credits. The mobility scheme involves two different locations at least. The first year is common for all students: this will guarantee an equal knowledge platform for all of them. The second year is divided into five paths, which reflect the partners’ field of excellence.

– First semester: Theory at UAQ, Italy

– Second semester: Numerics at UHH, Germany

– Third+Fourth semester: Applications at UAB / UHH / UAQ / GUT / UNSA

LANGUAGE

The language of the whole course is exclusively English at each of the five universities. Students must also attend (and acquire the relating credits of) a course of basic Italian language (first semester) and German language (second semester). Students will also have the opportunity to attend local language courses during their second year (spent at one of the five partners).

UNIRAZAK Master / PhD Research Scholarships for Malaysian and International Students, 2013/14

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) is inviting applications for postgraduate research scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to pursue the degree of Master of Science (Management) or Doctor of Philosophy (Management). Each scholarship recipient will serve as graduate research assistant to the principal investigator and will also be assigned a research supervisor by the Graduate School of Business to guide him/ her to programme completion. Full time students are expected to devote half of their 40-hours week to the assigned research project and the other half to pursuing the completion of their degree and teaching or carrying out administrative duties as appropriate. In addition to the scholarship, research assistants will have the opportunity to receive stipends.

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak

Scholarship Description: UNIRAZAK is now recruiting suitably qualified individuals to pursue the degree of Master of Science (Management) or Doctor of Philosophy (Management) at UniversitiTun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK). The postgraduate research scholarships are funded by the Government of Malaysia through the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and the Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS). The award of scholarship to students undertaking a postgraduate research programme on a part-time basis will be at the discretion of the project’s principal investigator and scholarship panel. In addition to the scholarship, research assistants will have the opportunity to receive stipends. Date of commencement as a research assistant can be as early as 1St August, 2013. All postgraduate students will be required to attend a series of research related courses.

Duration of award (s): A full time student is expected to complete his/ her studies within the minimum duration of one (1) year for the Master of Science (Management) student or two (2) years since Doctor of Philosophy (Management). The continuity of this award will be based on the student’s academic performance and his/her fulfillment of the stipulated work requirements.

What does it cover? A postgraduate research scholarship covers the cost of LOCAL tuition fee amounting to RM16, 200 for Master of Science (Management) or RM24, 240 for Doctor of Philosophy (Management). These scholarships are not cash awards, however, research assistants may receive stipend, as previously stated.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships for Canadian and International Students, 2014/15

The government of Canada offers PhD scholarships for Canadian and international students in Canada. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and to establish Canada as a global center of excellence in research and higher learning. Students must be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation. Each Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year.

Study Subject (s): Scholarships are provided to study any one the course offered by the Canadian universities.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD level at Canadian universities.

TICA’s Scholarships for Thai International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP), 2013/14

 

Royal Thai Government’s Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) is offering fully funded scholarships for Thai international postgraduate programme (TIPP) at Khon Kaen University, Kasetsart University, Naresuan University, Mae Fah Luang University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, Prince of Songkla University, Chiang Mai University and Institute of Dermatology in Thailand. Scholarship Description: The Thai International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) established in 1999, with the aim of expanding Thailand’s commitment to fostering cooperation partnerships among developing countries.  The programme set up by the Royal Thai Government’s Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is designed to provide fully-funded fellowships to allow outstanding students to study in Thailand. An important aspect of the programme is its focus on enhancing educational standards in the Asian region while helping to improve cross-cultural understanding and relationships between Thailand and its development partners. The first TIPP courses began in the 2000 academic year with students from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam. The programme has now been expanded to include applicants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Djibouti, El Salvador, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Guinea, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Marshalls Islands, Micronesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Island, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Uganda and Vanuatu.

What does it cover? The following costs will be borne by the Royal Thai Government and administered by Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA):
-A round-trip air ticket: An economy class air ticket from an appropriate international airport to Bangkok will be issued to each awardee by a representative of Thai Airways International, or through the National Airline Office in the awardee’s country. A return air ticket will be issued and provided to each awardee before their course ends. Should the awardees buy the air tickets by themselves, without TICA’s special instruction, they are not eligible to reimburse its expenses from the Royal Thai Government.
-A settlement allowance and a monthly living allowance in Thai Baht
-Accommodation for the duration of the awardee’s stay in Thailand
-Tuition and supplementary fees (paid directly to the training institute)
-Life and health insurance: Health services relating to dental treatment, glasses and any kind of sickness that happened before awardee arrive Thailand are not covered by the health insurance provided by the Royal Thai Government.

Notification: The selection results will be released to the respective governments in March 2014. Applicants should contact their government’s focal agencies for the list of awardees.

How to Apply: Applicants wishing to apply for the Thai International Postgraduate Programme must be nominated by their respective governments. They should complete the TICA application form (available from Royal Thai Embassies and Royal Thai Consulates) and submit it to the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home country.  The forms will then be forwarded to TICA for screening.Applications must
Be made on TICA’s Scholarship Application Form;
Be typed;
Be endorsed by the applicant’s working agency and government;
Be forwarded to TICA through the Royal Thai Embassy in the applicant’s country;
Include medical examination forms that have been completed by a certified medical practitioner;
Include copies of degree certificate and transcripts (mark sheets) of the applicant’s studies in English;
Include copies of English language certificate (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS);
Be submitted along with the additional requirements of each course.
