Victoria University of Wellington offers Dominion post master’s scholarships in the field of communications studies, media studies, creative writing or information management. Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enroll in a Master’s degree by thesis and must be intending to conduct research in any area of communications, media or creative writing that has the potential to benefit the health and well-being of New Zealanders. Up to three scholarships are offered. The application deadline is 01 November 2013.

Scholarship Description: The Dominion Post intends to fund in 2011 at Victoria University of Wellington up to three research scholarships in the areas of Communications Studies, Media Studies, Creative Writing or Information Management. The Dominion Post is the second-largest daily newspaper in the country and has a wonderful legacy in the publishing world. It was launched on July 8 2002, following the merger of the capital’s two daily newspapers, The Dominion and The Evening Post. For students studying at Victoria University of Wellington in the areas of Communications Studies, Media Studies, Creative Writing or Information Management.

Number of award(s): Up to three scholarships are offered.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for one year.

What does it cover? Total offer is of $15,000 plus domestic tuition fees.

Selection Criteria: The selection will be made primarily on the basis of academic merit and the ability of the University to supervise the proposed research.
